Community Benefits Coalition
Development projects in Orange County can provide the opportunity to address many issues and concerns of the community, and in particular of working families. Through the community benefits model, a more comprehensive plan is designed to incorporate these needs and concerns in the planning process. Key to our community benefits campaign in the Platinum Triangle has been the formation of a coalition representative of community stakeholders and organizations in Orange County that bring important resources and knowledge to the table.
Convened by OCCORD, the Community Benefits Coalition represents an array of expertise on issues such as affordable housing, jobs and employment, child care, community health, environment, youth development, and universal design, among many others. The Community Benefits Coalition is spearheading the campaign for responsible development in the Platinum Triangle and has advanced strategies to incorporate neighborhood residents in the planning process and build power for working families in Anaheim.
